Format & Team Play (6U–12U)
Our Girls Play Flag Football league for ages 6U through 12U is primarily structured for 5v5 play, focusing on skill development, gameplay fundamentals, and a fun, team-based experience.
Depending on registration numbers, some divisions may adjust to:

- A positive and engaging experience for all athletes
Pricing
$149 per player + 3.99% processing fee
(High School divisions have separate pricing—see Program Description for details)
Player Development Progression
Our league is designed to provide a clear progression as athletes build skills and confidence:
- 6U–12U Divisions:
- Focus on fundamentals, spacing, and game awareness through 5v5 gameplay
- 14U Division:
- Transitions to a more advanced format, typically 7v7, emphasizing gameplay strategy and development
- High School Division:
- Competitive 7v7 format designed for experienced athletes ready for a higher level of play
Formats may adjust to 5v5, 4v4, or 3v3 if needed to maintain balanced and competitive teams based on registration numbers.
Team Formation & Rosters
Teams are formed based on:
- Age
- School
- Experience level
To ensure competitive balance:
- Free agents may be added to teams as needed
- All teams are subject to roster adjustments throughout the registration process
High School Division – Important Information
Girls Play Flag Football offers a 7v7 team-based competitive format, played on Sundays and focused on advanced gameplay, including:
- Route concepts
- Timing
- Coverage recognition
What to Expect:
- 5 game guarantee plus a Division Tournament or consolation game
- Division winners advance to Playoffs or Super Bowl (if applicable)
- Players register individually but may request a coach or teammates
Equipment & Uniforms:
- Teams wear their own uniforms
- NFL FLAG belts are required
- Mouthguards are required
This division does not include jerseys, flag belts, or mouthguards.
- NFL FLAG belts available for $15
- Mouthguards available for $5
Additional Details:
- $99 per player
- Minimum of 14 players per team
Division Descriptions
- 6U Division: For participants under the age of 7 as of August 1. Players who turn 7 on August 2 or after remain eligible for 6U.
- 8U Division: For participants under the age of 9 as of August 1. Players who turn 9 on August 2 or after remain eligible for 8U.
- 10U Division: For participants under the age of 11 as of August 1. Players who turn 11 on August 2 or after remain eligible for 10U.
- 12U Division: For participants under the age of 13 as of August 1. Players who turn 13 on August 2 or after remain eligible for 12U
- 14U Division: For participants under the age of 15 as of August 1. Players who turn 15 on August 2 or after remain eligible for 14U.
- High School Division (7v7): Open to all current or incoming high school athletes. This division offers a more advanced, team-oriented experience with an emphasis on competition and skill development.
Quick Parent Tip
If your child’s birthday is on or before August 1, they play in that age group.
If it’s August 2 or later, they remain in the younger division.
Team Formation & Placement
- This is your HOME-BASE location – some games may be played outside your home-base depending on the number of teams
- Players may play up in older divisions, but not down
- Team formation follows NFL FLAG age guidelines and aims to group players with classmates when possible
Additional placement details:
- Divisions may be combined if registration numbers require
- Returning players who register on time receive priority placement on prior teams
- Late registrants are not guaranteed prior team placement
- New players are placed based on school and geographic proximity
- Team requests are accepted and honored when space allows
Registration & Deadlines
A late fee begins August 1. Please register early to avoid late fees and maintain priority placement.
Once late registration begins:
- Late fees will not be waived
- Returning player placement is no longer guaranteed
